Avoid Playing Too Many Hands

Often, new poker players play nearly each hand that they’re is turned. While it’s possible that any opener might get better or even win the pot once the board cards are turned, there are certain cards that most likely won’t.

A lot of prefessionals say, a winning poker player will play only approximately about a quarter of of their hands. In other words, success at poker is based just as much on what you don’t play than on what you do see through to the flop.

One of the biggest factors to success in poker is watching the number of hands that you actually play in a particular poker sitting. That does not mean you always have to wait for pocket aces or kings to play a hand, but it does mean letting go that 3, 8 off suit.
